Day 1 You will be met at the railway station or the airport in Bergerac and transferred to the manor house for dinner and to settle in for the week or people arrive directly by car to the Bourdil around 17.00.You will be introduced to the horses that have been selected to match your riding experience and ability in the paddock behind the house

Day 2 You leave by car for the Hunt. The horses are transported by horse trailer. For the Saint Hubert celebrations, the national day of hunting there is a church service followed by the blessing of the hounds and a short fanfare of French horns. Then a short lunch with the other hunters before mounting up and setting off for the hunt. At the end of the day either return to the Bourdil for dinner or attend a hunt dinner near the hunt in a local inn, country house or château

Day 3 You leave for the Issigeac street market which is great fun and full of local colour, returning to the Bourdil before riding out through the village of Lamonzie Montastruc and across la Forêt de Liorac to the private Chateau Garraube where you will picnic on the terrace looking out over the formal gardens. Return to the manor house by another route through the forest where you will leave the horses and dine at the manor house

Day 4 In the morning ride through the forests and vineyards to the fabulous Chateau Tiregand, owned by the Saint-Exupéry family, who wrote the well known children's book, le Petit Prince. They produce Pecharmant red wines. Wine tasting and a visit of the cellars and formal gardens looking out over the Dordogne, followed by lunch in the wine cellars. Afternoon ride through vineyards and the forest to the little village of Liorac sur Louyre. Visit the truffle farm at Ste Foye de Longas where Mr. Martin will explain how he grows and cultivates truffles. You will have the opportunity to purchase some of the delicious foods. Return to the manor house where Bernadette will show you how to incorporate truffles into a typical local dish, which you will then promptly eat, washed down with some great local wines.Dinner at the manor house.

Day 5 The day is free. Group visits of the local sites can be arranged, you can do a tour of your own, or just relax at the house, the choice is yours. Lunch and dinner out, either enroute back from tourist sites, or at a local hostelry. Transportation is arranged. A list of suggested restaurants will be provided.

Day 6 Ride through the Caudeau valley, visiting the private chateau of La Leotardie and the villages of Montclard, Saint Georges, St Martin des Combes and Clermont de Beauregard. Picnic lunch in the kitchen of the magnificent Chateau la Gaubertie. After lunch, return to the manor house for another wonderful dinner and overnight.

Day 7 After breakfast ride through the Louyre valley, visiting the private chateaux of Saint Maurice, La Tissanderie and La Vernelle. Either picnic or lunch in a local restaurant.Return to the manor house across wooded hills and valleys for your final night and farewell dinner either at the Bourdil or in a local restaurant

Day 8 After breakfast transfer to the Bergerac railway station or airport, or have a visit first to Bergerac street market in the morning for some local shopping before your departure.
